Opportunities to Raise Your Voice for a Greater Level of Systemic Advocacy at the State Level

As advocates, there is nothing greater than empowering someone to effectively use their voice, whether it’s to speak out against domestic violence, stand up for their child at a school IEP meeting or ensure their individual rights are protected at a psychiatric institution like William R. Sharpe or Mildred Mitchel Bateman Hospital. While Legal Aid has positively impacted thousands of individuals through legal advocacy, a greater level of systemic advocacy is needed at the state level. With the WV legislative session in full swing, there are plenty of opportunities for the public to raise its voice on important issues that impact the citizens of this state.
