LAWV Board of Directors Visit to Parkersburg

On May 17, Legal Aid of WV's Board of Directors had their official quarterly meeting for Spring 2019. Because LAWV has 12 offices around the state, at least one yearly meeting is held in a region served by one of the offices located outside of Charleston. This spring, Parkersburg was selected, and the staff wanted to be sure the BOD got to experience as much of their region as possible.

Festivities began on Thursday, May 16, as the newest client board members joined with Executive Director Adrienne Worthy for a special introduction to LAWV. Following their meeting, LAWV staff and the full Board of Directors were invited to take part in a brief history of Legal Aid of WV, presented by Advocacy Support Council for LAWV, Bruce Perrone.

On Thursday evening, the Fourth Circuit Public Defender Corporation, The Employment Law Center, and Harry Deitzler hosted a social reception for the Board and community partners. The reception was held on the patio at the historic Blennerhassett Hotel, and pro bono volunteers and devoted supporters, Harry Deitzler and Billy Richardson, were honored with signed thank you plaques.

The official Board meeting was conducted on Friday, May 17, at the Judge Black Annex across from the Blennerhassett Hotel.
