INS I-751 “Petition for Waiver of Conditions on Residence” on behalf of battered immigrant spouse, to allow her to remain legally although no longer residing with spouse through whom her admission to US was initially granted.  We have both a “Declaration” or affidavit, by the battered spouse in support of the petition; and a Cover Letter listing documents submitted in support of the petition.

ABA Standards for Handling Civil Protection Order cases.  Adopted August 13 by the ABA House of Delegates.  Black letter “standards” of practice, with extensive commentary explaining the provisions suggested for appropriate, competent representation.

Health

New federal Medicaid regulation implementing the requirement for Proof of Citizenship and Identity, along with a Fact Sheet issued by the federal agency.  Posted in Health -> Medicaid -> Eligibility.

Housing

“Advocate’s Guide to Housing and Community Development Policy,” by the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC).  Link to the NLIHC web site where the Guide is posted.

Chemical Sensitivities and Reasonable Accommodation.  Excerpt from national housing law list serve discussion when tenants have allergic reactions to air fresheners or cleaning products used by housing authority.  Posted in Housing -> Federal Public Housing; and also in Disabilities -> Reasonable Accommodation.

Deed of Trust and Promissory Note forms.  Fill-in-the-blank forms for documents to be used to implement a land sales purchase agreement in safe and secure format for purchaser.  Should be used instead of the typical “land sales contract” that clients often write up themselves.  Includes a form Deed of Trust providing a recordable lien on the property, and a form Promissory Note recording the terms of the payment agreement.  Prepared by John Lukens, volunteer attorney in LAWV Charleston office.
