The Rule of Law: Foundation for Communities of Opportunity
and Equity

Across the country members of the legal community are preparing to celebrate the milestone 50^th Anniversary of ‘Law Day’, on May 1, 2008. We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge what ‘Law Day’ means to us ----- but more importantly, what Law Day means to the clients of Legal Aid of West Virginia. Quite fittingly, the theme of the 50^th Anniversary of Law Day, is ‘The Rule of Law: Foundation for Communities of Opportunity and Equity.’

We all have a stake in the rule of law and we can all do our part to strengthen it.

Our Mission: Legal Aid of West Virginia advocates for low-income, vulnerable West Virginians, seeks equal justice, and creates system change in order to improve client safety, health, housing, income and access to resources.
