- Use West Virginia's on-line application page, to apply for medicaid, CHIP, welfare, Food Stamps and many other programs. An in-person interview may also be required, but this step gets the process started. Click to go to the state DHHR web site, then click on the "Online Services" words.

Web site - "Making Connections" - Information on public benefits
- "Making Connections" is a collaborative effort of the West Virginia Welfare Reform Coalition, Legal Aid of WV, American Friends Service Committee, and Community Voices. The goal is to support outreach workers in informing and linking families to the services and benefits for which they might be eligible. This site has a fantastic manual of information on health care, education and job skills, welfare and Food Stamp benefits, and more.
