Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program helps the residents
of long-term care facilities, including nursing homes, long-term care
units of hospitals, personal care homes, residential board and care
homes, residential care communities, registered unlicensed homes,
adult family care homes, and "assisted living" facilities. These
residents are often among West Virginia's most isolated and vulnerable
citizens.
The Ombudsman Program also helps those in the general community who
need information or assistance regarding long-term care issues.
Understanding long-term care options available to one who may need such
services is not easy. Whether it is choosing an appropriate quality
long-term care home, determining how to pay for such services, or
understanding how to initiate the process of getting into a home, many
residents and their families call the Ombudsman Program for guidance and
information.
