Legal Aid of West Virginia’s Law Line- Legal Information Available by Phone 24/7


Do you need basic information about your divorce?  Or are you just curious about your rights as a tenant?   Sometimes when a legal problem arises, you might need background information about what is at issue and what you should do next.  

If you call Legal Aid’s Law Line at 1-866-985-2948, you can listen to FREE recorded phone messages with information on common legal problems.  The messages on Law Line cover problems like:

  • Divorce;
  • Domestic violence; 
  • Custody; 
  • Eviction; 
  • Consumer problems; 
  • DHHR benefits; and 
  • How to represent yourself in court.  

Each message provides you with 2-3 minutes of information on each topic.  You can listen to as many messages as you want.  These messages are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

Different cases have different circumstances and complications. The information on Law Line is to help you understand the issues that may come up in a case and is not intended to address every possible situation.
